The Ohio Business Teachers Foundation, Inc. Grant Guidelines The Ohio Business Teachers Foundation, Inc. (OBTF); awards grants in two categories: financial assistance grants and grants-in-aid. The availability of monies awarded each year depends upon the availability of funds. The OBTF Board of Trustees screens all applications. Acceptance of grant monies under either category REQUIRES the recipient to disseminate information about business/marketing education to business/marketing educators in Ohio. This dissemination may take one of several forms. (See below) Monies will not be distributed until all requirements have been met and the Notice of Grant Completion form and documentation has been submitted and approved. Categories FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE GRANT: Financial Assistance Grant will be awarded to PROFESSIONAL educators as defined below whom, through research, investigation, and /or experimentation, can produce evidence of significant contributions to the field of business/marketing education. Eligibility PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR: A professional educator is one who is currently employed as a teacher and/or administrator in business/marketing education in the State of Ohio; is a current member of the OBTA--An Association for Business Technology Educators, the Business Information Technology (BIT) Division of the Ohio Association of Career/Technical Educators (ACTE) and/or Ohio Marketing Education Association (OMEA) and has the equivalent of three (3) academic years of teaching in business/marketing education. An organization or OBTF Trustees are not eligible to apply for this grant. Description of Appropriate Project The results of the project will further Ohio business/marketing education. The project must be based all or in part on research and must impact the teaching and learning of business/marketing students of Ohio. Examples of appropriate projects include, but are not limited to, teaching methodology; innovative technologies; and innovative technical, industry or economically driven needs that directly impact the future of Ohio business/marketing education. Grant Requirements The grant requirements include the following: Grant Application Form: Typed with complete information. SUBMISSION DATES: Grant application form and required attachments must be submitted in hard copy and electronic (RTF or PDF format) to the President of OBTF by February 1 or October 1 of each year and will be reviewed bi-annually (see OBTF Grant Application form). PUBLIC DISSEMINATION OF RESEARCH/PROJECT INFORMATION: Public dissemination of research/project information will be in the form of a presentation at one of the following: the OBTA’s yearly convention, the BIT/ME Division of the Ohio ACTE’s Annual Conference, or Ohio BE/ME Conclave and one of the following:
DISBURSEMENT OF FUNDS: The OBTF Board of Trustees will approve the release of funds at a bi-annual meeting upon the completion of the research project and the submission of the Notice of Grant Completion form.
